al-Jailani and the Implementations of His Framework in Building Civilizations

Abstract

This paper will talk about one of the prominent figures in the Sufi`s world whose name is Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani. It is important to note that Islam solves all the philosophical lives questions. From explaining the meaning of happiness, sorrow, rich, poor and others, it also has its own creed and jurisprudence. As for this paper it will briefly discuss the live of Al-Jailani and what he preached during his lifetime and how his idea might build built modern civilization. Islamic civilisation has undeniably contributed to the development of world civilisations across Africa, Asia, Andalusia, and much of Europe. These remarkable achievements span major fields of knowledge and are well-recorded in history. The secret behind this success lies in the balanced and comprehensive understanding of Islam possessed by Muslim scholars and intellectuals. This article attempts to discuss the role of the Muslim community’s understanding of the concept of Islamic epistemology as a fundamental basis for building a distinguished Islamic civilisation. This framework of Islamic epistemology will be examined with the aim of restoring the past glory of the Muslim ummah and positioning contemporary Muslims, as Allah’s vicegerents on earth, in their rightful place. This study adopts a qualitative approach employing content analysis. Research data were gathered from books, journals, conference papers, and scholarly studies. The findings conclude that epistemology is crucial in understanding the foundations of knowledge and the sources of truth
