Kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk meninjau persepsi masyarakat terhadap program kelas pengajian agama di masjid dalam Jajahan Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Pengajaran dan pembelajaran ilmu agama di institusi masjid telah lama wujud semenjak zaman Baginda Rasulullah SAW dan para sahabat lagi. Malah di era kecemerlangan Islam, institusi masjid terus berkembang sebagai pusat pengajian ilmu-ilmu Islam dan penyebaran ilmu agama. Institusi masjid memainkan peranan penting sebagai pusat perkembangan ilmu agama dan penyebarannya melalui kelas pegajian agama yang diadakan secara berterusan. Persepsi masyarakat yang menganggap kelas pengajian agama di institusi masjid kurang berkualiti perlu diperbetulkan. Keadaan ini berlaku kerana terdapat perbezaan kefahaman dan penerimaan di kalangan masyarakat dan ianya mengalami pasang surut mengikut keadaan umat Islam berdasarkan kepada waktu dan tempat. Seramai 302 orang responden dalam kajian ini yang melibatkan 213 orang responden lelaki dan 89 orang responden perempuan. Metodologi kajian ini adalah menggunakan kaedah campuran iaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Manakala pengumpulan data dan maklumat, kajian ini menggunakan dua cara iaitu kajian perpustakaan dan kajian di lapangan. Data kajian dianalisis melalui SPSS versi 24.0 dan dapatan menunjukkan persepsi masyarakat terhadap program kelas pengajian agama di masjid iaitu di segi pengurusan masjid, kaedah pelaksanaan, tenaga pengajar dan ahli jemaah adalah baik dan memuaskan.
This study aims to survey on community’s perception on religious classes program at mosque in Kota Bharu district, Kelantan. Teaching and learning of religious knowledge at mosque institution has been existed since the period of Prophet Muhammaad S.A.W and his companion. Even, during the excellence of Islamic era, mosque institution continuously developed as centre of Islamic knowledge studies and religious knowledge extension. Mosque institution plays important role as religious knowledge extension centre and its dissemination through religious classes that are held continuously. Community perception that assumes religious Islamic classes at mosque institutions are of poor quality needs to be corrected. This situation happens because there is an understanding and acceptance difference among the community, and it experiences ups and downs according to the condition of Muslims based on time and place. In this study, there were 302 of total respondents which involves 213 male respondents and 89 female respondents. Methodology of this study were using mixing method of quantitative and qualitative. Meanwhile, for data and information collection, this study was using two methods which were library research and field study. Study data was analysed through SPSS version 24.0 and its findings show community’s perception on religious classes program at mosque, in terms of mosque management, methods of implementation, teaching staff and congregations were good and satisfactory.
