Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan pada masa kini terdapat pelbagai halangan dan cabaran yang dihadapi oleh pendidik. Justeru persediaan yang mencukupi adalah perlu bagi menghadapi cabaran ini, terutama pada era pandemik ini. Dalam konteks pengajaran dan pembelajaran prasekolah masih terdapat banyak isu dan persoalan yang berhubung kait dengan kurikulum yang memerlukan ikhtiar dan usaha untuk menyelesaikan segala permasalahan yang berlaku. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini mengkaji pengetahuan guru menggunakan bahan bantu mengajar (BBM) dan kemahiran guru prasekolah dalam melaksanakan pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP) Matematik Awal. Pengetahuan dan kemahiran BBM dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme guru secara intrinsik dan ekstrinsik untuk membantu dan pencapaian murid secara holistik di dalam bilik darjah. Ini memberikan implikasi terhadap peningkatan kredibiliti guru dan dalam masa yang sama dapat meningkatkan kualiti dan mutu pembelajaran pelajar di dalam bilik darjah.

Sudden breakout of Covid-19 Pandemic has called for a pause in the ways and means of learning in any educational institutions. There are various obstacles and challenges faced by educators that needs adequate preparation in making sure that the students are able to learn. This study investigated the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic on preschool education and sought answers to the implementation of preschool, activities to be held, challenges and measures that need to be taken to sustain preschool education. The need of the hour is to innovate and implement alternative educational system and assessment strategies. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the knowledge of teachers using teaching aids in teaching and learning, teaching aids and the skills of preschool teachers in teaching Early Mathematics. The knowledge and skills in using teaching aids can constitutionally enhance teacher’s professionalism to help pupils develop holistically. This establishes the teacher’s credibility and at the same time improves the quality of students' learning in the classroom.
